Route summary: The route begins next to the "alquería" Ovejuela, specifically in the viewing-point on the Ovejuela river. After crossing the village, the route goes up the slopes of the Vela, once exceeded the natural swimming pool of the river. The slope down towards the waterfall, named "Chorrituelo", where the river Ovejuela is born, is one of the most beautiful places that you can see in Las Hurdes Bajas. So unforgettable is the waterfall and its pond for travelers, as the landscape that the river itself will show you during the return.
Along the route the travelers can watch the traditional architecture of Ovejuela, the typical terraces that inhabitants have snatched to the mountains to make their gardens and the Honey Interpretation Centre, located in an old mill of the village.
